30/8/12	The Supreme Court critises the coverage of the Mumbai terror attack by the mainstream electronic media and said that it has done much harm to the argument that any regulatory mechanism for the media must only come from within.

21/8/12	The Delhi High Court has held that use of a few words from a song or a few lines from a lyric does not amount to infringement of copyright. The judgment was delivered in a case filed by Yash Raj Films alleging infringement of copyright by India TV.
20/8/12	Sony Pictures has been permitted by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to buy out the Indian promoters in Multi Screen Media as it feels that the proposed combination is not likely to have an appreciable adverse effect on competition.
