3/12/12 -- News Corp-owned publishing company Harper Collins has ended its almost 10 year joint-venture with Aroon Poorie-promoted Living Media India to go solo in the growing Indian market.

The Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) has taken strong exception to double-meaning dialogues used in 'comedy shows' telecast on various general entertainment channels (GEC). BCCC advised all member channels of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) to exercise discretion to make television viewing more pleasurable and not let such 'comedy shows' become platforms for making lewd remarks.

TRAI submitted its recommendations to the Information & Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry on "Issues related to entry of government or government entities into the business of broadcasting and/or distribution of TV channels". TRAI has stuck to its November 2008 recommendation that central and state governments or entities owned by them should not be allowed to be in broadcasting and television channel distribution businesses.

A Delhi court granted bail to Zee News and Zee Business editors Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia in the alleged Rs 1 billion extortion case filed by Congress MP Naveen Jindal.
