1/4/13 -- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is banking heavily on social media or Twitter to be precise to engage sports buffs as it gears up for the season 6 of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The first 16 games of IPL 6 has registered a 140 million viewership, the highest ever in the last six years. 
The Delhi High Court has stayed an order prohibiting the transmission of the AXN channel for one day for allegedly showing a film - Darkness Falls - with an ‘A' certificate. Issuing a notice to the information and broadcasting ministry, the court listed the matter for further hearing on 13 July.

Action has been initiated ten times against eight foreign television channels in 2011 and 2012 for violation of the Programme and Advertising Codes under the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Act, 1995 and the rules framed there under. While FTV faced closure for ten days from 28 March this year, the AXN channel was taken off for one day.
