This article describes the technological building blocks of a present day Digital Cable TV System. It also explains how the existing coaxial cable distribution networks can be upgraded to modern bi-directional hybrid fiber coaxial networks. Friday, December 02, 2005 -- Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry PriyaRanjan Das Munsi informed the Lok Sabha that the UPA government has prohibited transmission /retransmission of satellite channels like Blue Kiss, Blue Kiss Express, Blue Kiss Promo, TBL-XXX and free XTV for violating the programme and advertising code prescribed under the Cable television Network (Regulation) Act,1995.

Wednesday, November 02, 2005 -- A group of India broadcasters, under the banner of India Media Group, asked the government to direct cable operators to digitally deliver all foreign television channels through set-top-boxes. Broadcasters say a digital system will further open up capacity in the cable network. so that more channels can be carried.
